I don't care what you say -- I love "Pirate Master"
It has Mark Burnett production values, a tropical setting, sociopaths drunk with power becoming Pirate Captain, mutiny, an ex-NFL running back being cast adrift, and an auto mechanic named Jay as a bosun on the take. Jeebus, who couldn't love this treasure chest of cheesy goodness???

What a great summer: Heels Kitchen, Top Chef, Next Food Network Star, this show, and the female boxing and lesbian surfing shows starting next week. And, Haruka's living with me.

*SWOON*

2. I think "The Next Best Thing" is highly entertaining, not only for the
parade of contestants (some really good, some laughably bad) but also for the barrage of witty put-downs the judges constantly fire at the contestants. The judges are far more entertaining than on any of the other "judged" contest shows.

8. I came in the room as he was on and I actually thought it was the real Howard Stern.

10. I saw the Howard impersonator on while I was riding the stationery bike in the gym
without the sound, and really thought it was him at first glance as well!

6. Food porn -- it's different.
Also, the heavy "fantasy" element involved.

9. I was thinking of watching that show, but then I figured nobody would die of scurvy
or get hanged by the King's Court, or get flogged 'til they fainted, or get a leg blown off by a cannonball, etc.

Then I said, "where's the pirate reality, matey?" and went back to playing "Sid Meier's Pirates!" on my laptop.
