Stupid rackin' frackin' Bob Pollard's back!!!! Canceled concert!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! Dammit the hell!!! Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck!!!!!! :argh::grr::mad:

Translation: Bob Pollard, lead singer of Guided by Voices, hurt his back in Houston last night and had to cancel tonight's show here in Austin. Man...I was looking forward to the show, too.

Oh well, Jay Farrar is tomorrow night. Maybe his back will hold out. :-)

7. Roseanne Rosannadana Said It Best...
It's always something!

Dude! Sorry to hear about the cancellation... that's almost worse than arriving at the theater and just as you're settling in to your seats, a voice announces "Nathan Lane will not be performing tonight due to illness. Mr. Lane's understudy, Rodney Jakobs will...."

BUT I PAID TO SEE NATHAN LANE!!! Will I get a rebate??

could you do me a HUGE favor and lose some of the exclamation points in your subject line. It's screwing up the Lounge front page. :P

14. They're good
And you're a sweetie-pie for asking. *smooches*

We went to lunch at Texas Land and Cattle. Yummmmmmmmm.

Then dad went back to the hotel to watch the basketball games and take a nap. Mom and I went shopping for clothes (she gave me a "gift certificate" for a shopping trip as one of my xmas presents). Congratulate me - I'm a size 10. WOOHOO!

After that we sat around and talked for a bit. Then they had to get ready for the dance tonight. They are leaving ridiculously early in the morning to get back to my hometown for a party. No fair - they have more of a life than I do. *pout* :-)

I know my parents have more of a life than I do. They're world travelers, even! *boohoo*

Oh, I can't wait until the Saltgrass opens. Mmmmm...Saltgrass. Good beef. :9

16. Mmmmmm...dead cow
I think I've actually had beef more times since the whole Mad Cow scare started than I had in the last 6 months before that. It just isn't usually part of my diet. But my best friend wanted to go to Texas Land and Cattle last week for her birthday. So we went. She wanted to go to Fuddrucker's yesterday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the day we met. So we went and had hamburgers. And then the folks wanted to go for steak.

Granted I didn't actually have a whole steak either time. I had jalapeno pork chops. Yummmmm. But I did have steak soup and my mom pulled a "mom" and "traded" me some of her steak for a "little taste" of my pork chops. She's so cute. :-)

18. Freedom fries?
Don't tell me they actually pulled that shit. :eyes:

The menu I saw yesterday did say French fries.

And the jalapeno pork chops are amazing. They serve you two 8 ox pork chops which means one of them is sitting in my fridge right now waiting to be tomorrow's lunch. And let me tell you, as good as they are in the restaurant, they're even better the next day. Something about letting the jalapeno stuff sit over night makes them hothothot. *drool*

19. Yeah, they had "freedom fries" for a while.
Maybe they changed their tune. If so, that's good for them.

Any food with a lot of flavor should taste better the next day, more time for all that stuff to sink in more.

Edited on Sun Jan-18-04 02:25 AM by VelmaD
about the "freedom fries" thing. We probably would have gone somewhere else for lunch. Oh well. I'll know better next time.

I suppose that's what I get for busting my diet and having a burger with all the fixins and greasy onion rings. :-)

I'm headed to bed. Gotta watch the talking head shows in the morning, then jog, then FOOTBALL!

In honor of my momma being in town I'll sign off with one of her favorite parting shots..."Keep it between the ditches".

*drool*

I need to get to bed too. Football tomorrow! Wheee! I'll watch football and do laundry until it's time to head to Jay Farrar.

Keep it between the ditches! I love it!

Hasta la vista! :hi:
