What a turn, huh? Chase being fired and Cameron quitting?

Has anyone heard if they signed on for another season, or was this the way of writing them out of the show?

What's the story with the guitar, and why did Chase get fired?

It seemed like a believable plot twist that the 2 would quit in order to re-connect with their humane-ness. Face it, as a work environment having House as boss does border on the mildly dysfunctional! If it really was just a matter of writing the characters out, it was done in a believable way, which is all that I, a viewer, ask for in my TV shows. It never was the hunky dory work ensemble like Mary Tyler Moore. It's completely believeable that HOuse would burn out his employees and have high turnover.

7. Wilson said something about how House has had the same guitar since 8th grade and used that as

an example of House not liking change. So House got the new guitar, that looks just like the old guitar...so I guess that was a symbol of him changing a little?

I didn't quite get the Chase firing. I thought it was a scheme to get Forman to come back somehow. House just said that Chase had been there the longest and that change was good, so it was time for Chase to move on.

If only because I've known and worked with MDs exactly like this guy. ('cept for the drug habit, SFAIK)

I don't understand why he fired Chase. I do believe him when House says "You've learned everything." But Chase wasn't the one who he had a conflict with all season. His conflicts are with Cameron and Foreman.

Buth, Aha. He desires conflict. So, he lets go of the one who can get along with him and wants to keep the ones who engage him.

No too bothered about Chase. Whole thing seemed a bit contrived as a vehicle for having a new cast.

Notice how Cameron got in one last little torture? (the lingering hand on the arm) Her parting shot for him firing Chase. Hee.

I don't think they're returning. Whole new cast of ducklings for House to torment.

12. Cameron was cool.

Anyone could be a disturbed genius, though the Foreman character was especially good at it. But Cameron was really dark. I remember one episode where a woman was in some kind of coma, dying of course, and the husband had just found out she hadan affair. He said part of him hopes she does not wake up and asked Cameron if that makes him a bad person. She turn and looked at him and with no agitation answered "yes."

13. Surprised

I was very surprised he fired Chase, but not so much when Cameron quit at the end. I've got a feeling they'll all be back next season, but no real reason to think so. Although it would be entertaining to see a whole new team struggle to put up with House.
