1. Love = "Oh God Shoot Me Now" type of misery.
Never happens at the right time, brings too much drama fo yo' mama, fucks EVERYTHING up.

Cheesecake = Happiness. Oh yeah. O8)

Now, come here & rip out my intestines, cook them & feed them to the dog!

(No, I'm not bitter. Not...really.)

6. Love is far too complex to be codified into a simple concept like "happiness"
Love is good and bad, yin and yang, happy, mad, thriving, suffering. When it's good, it's better than no love; when it's bad, it's worse.

7. What a ridiculous question. Even assuming that they mean
"romantic" love, how can anyone say that if you are romantically in love, you are by definition, inevitably happy?

Many people are happy without romantic love.

Many people "love" someone who makes them most unhappy.

8. You're right
The question is hopelessly vague. There's a lot more to being happy than loving someone, I, for instance, love my wife and family intensely, but I've been totally miserable for the past month for various reasons. How am I supposed to answer a question like that?!?

I'm getting better, though.

10. I'm quitting my job tomorrow
That should help immensely. I'll be broke, but happy.

11. As the sole yes vote so far, I'd say it depends on your definition of love
And, uh, also on your definition of happiness. Eternal happiness doesn't exist in this life, but recognizing that you have it good and not worrying too much about messing it up or getting bored with it qualifies, no? By those criteria, it definitely results in happiness for me.
