I have a confession to make. I'm a bad vegan.
I don't like soy milk. God knows, I've tried, but I long for the stuff from cows. I like the chocolate enough. And I don't drink a lot of milk, soy or otherwise. But every morning, as I pour the soy milk over my Purely O's, I find myself dreaming of a nice splash of organic cow milk.

I'm so ashamed.

1. You need to do penance.
Go back to GD for a thrashing.
:spank:

I like some soy milks, and I like soy milk on cereal better than cow milk. I guess that makes me a bad omni.

3. Have some freakin' milk.
Edited on Wed May-16-07 11:17 PM by amitten
Get the organic free-range kind or something. Cows make milk and if their offspring isn't drinking it, you might as well.

On edit: I also think soy milk tastes like liquified death.

4. It usually grows on people once they haven't had cows' milk for a while
Have you tried hemp milk? It's much creamier and thicker than soy, if that's part of what you're missing.

Or you could just quit torturing yourself and get some waffles or something for breakfast instead.

5. Maybe you're just not cut out to be a vegan
I decided that I'm not cut out to be a vegetarian of any sort, so I've started to eat only humanely raised organic meat, dairy products, and eggs from my local co-op.

19. Good to know. I'll give it a try.
I live in soy country, so automatically think of soy as the alternative.

Edited on Thu May-17-07 11:08 AM by supernova
and I'm not vegan. It's very yummy.

I use 1/2 & 1/2 in my coffee but if I were going to make a milk-based drink or dish, I'd use almond milk.

edit: I'm lactose sensitive

13. That would be my advice.
It's not like veganism is a religion or anything. (or is it?)

You want some milk, drink some milk. What's the big deal? Cows like getting milked.

16. Nah, not really. Frustrated, but not really ashamed
Though I do have friends I wouldn't raise this with. They'd be appalled that I even CONSIDER drinking cow's milk. And I sort of understand. Some parishioners gave the beagle some bones from their recently slaughtered cattle, and I only let her have 'em outside. I can stand to look at 'em.

Yeah, I'm one of those.

15. Lewis Black on soy milk
There's no such thing as soy milk. It's soy juice. But they couldn't sell soy juice, so they called it soy milk. Because anytime you say soy juice, you actually...start to gag. Know how come I know there's no such thing as soy milk? Because there's no soy titty, is there?
