16. I wouldn't give my kid corn syrup at that age.
I'd be concerned about the "No corn, peanut butter, honey, citrus, etc" rule regarding allergies.

Prune juice would probably work better, and it is sweet.

And a parent should consider the cause of the "constipation". Some babies especially if breastfed, go through a stage of bowel changes at six weeks. They may take along time to poop, even a week or two, and never be symptomatic (fever, distension, discomfort).

38. My oldest
got constipated...he was only about 6 weeks old...and the pediatrician told me to put a tablespoon or two of blackstrap molasses in his formula.

Worked like a charm.

40. was he fully breastfed? alot of kids have the change
of bowel habits right at that time. They'll go when they are ready to, but they are switching from 3-4 times per day to once a day or even skipping several days. As long as the baby isn't having discomfort, fever,. etc, it isn't necessaary to intervene.

2. BOTH are wrong.....
Steen's Cane Syrup is the correct answer.

Maple would be my second choice.

Haven't found an acceptable use for Karo, except for attracting insects.

Is THAT what people use Karo syrup for? I'd always wondered people did with that stuff. Still begs the question of why, especially if there is maple syrup available.

I grew up with Karo. Blue Label for pecan pies. Green Label for pancakes. White for candies and some other pies.

Of course if we could get the homemade cane syrup - we used that, too!
