1. I find that garage sales
leave your home structurally unsound. Why not just sell the whole house?

3. You might be right; I'm getting rid of so much crap that the house
may no longer stand.

It's amazing how much crap one family can accumulate in six years.

2. Lots of big signs on major streets.

I never put an ad in the paper but I think that works too.

Price high but have lots of the crap at 50 cents or less. Once they start buying they will keep buying stuff.

Have tea or lemonade too it gets everyone happy. Change prices throughout the day. Most of your hardcore people will be there by 10AM so get ready early.

Oh and record every sale-you will be amazed at how much you actually make.

HAVE CHANGE READY- go to a bank and get lots of ones and fives and coins

4. great ideas!
I thought of having coffee, too, but if I have a good turnout I don't know if I can keep up w/ demand.

I never thought about pricing high. Guess I'd better.

Thanks :hi:

5. Color stickers instead of price tags when you can.
All 50 cent items blue sticker.
$1 items red.
etc.
The little round ones come about 20-30 to a sheet.

6. Check your local paper
Some of 'em will give you a garage sale ad free for a couple days. Some require that you've purchased the proper permit(s), if applicable.

There are people who read those ads every single day and then hit as many sales as they can. (They're also the ones who show up at 7:30 a.m. when your ad clearly states 9 a.m.-4 p.m. or whatever.)
