one of my cats just brought me a present!
He came in meowing at the top of his lungs, obviously very proud of himself, and dropped it at my feet. He brought me one of these:

It was undamaged, except possibly its pride. I released it out the front door. It's probably bragging to its friends about its escape!

1. By tomorrow it and all of its cousins will have lost their wings and
be a big bird feast. Be happy this little guy has another day to appreciate life. And appreciate it he/she will.

2. His friends will never believe his story, you know.
He just survived the equivalent of an alien abduction;
his friends will all call him "crazy" and shun him.

Sad, really.

5. He was lucky
Whenever this fuzz ball brings down anything of the insect persuasion, it's straight under the deck and crunchcrunchcrunchcrunch. Big fat grasshoppers are her favorite.

(any excuse to post a kitty pic is fine with me)

10. What a Love-Bug!
That is the cutest longhaired student of entomology cuisine that I have seen lately!

12. She's pretty cute, all right
She's almost all fur, and she never lost her kitten's ways. She drives the other two nuts, they never know when they'll suddenly have a face full of Amber. She's also very shy, when the doorbell rings there's always a furry blur going up the stairs and under the bed.

13. Is your cat a...
Mix between Maine Coon and Orange Tabby?

She looks remarkably similar to my Fluffanutter, who I think is dominately Maine Coon.

My cat looks like the male on the right, just infinitely cuter :-)

8. Dragonfly's are notorious liars so his friends won't believe him...
...which sort of sucks since the story was true.

9. My cat brought me
a piece of tree bark. He was so proud of hinmself when he dropped it at my feet. He must have stalked it for at least an hour.

He's not the brightest bulb in the cat world, but he can be very entertaining.

Much praise was given for the tree bark. Poor cat, his house mate brings in rats. He was doing his best to compete, I guess.

11. I have a dimbulb too
The above fuzzy one, Amber, caught her first mouse last week. I wasn't home. Mrs. Ironflange came down the stairs to find Amber sitting there with what she thought was one of her toy mice, until it moved. Then the screaming started, and Amber decided she'd best go back outside with it. A few minutes later, Cleo (bonehead) came in through the cat door with THE SAME MOUSE. She marched up and flung it at our son's feet (she presents us with prizes). The poor thing was pretty well dead by this point.
