Locke: Jedi Master or Batshit Nuts?
I go with the Jedi Master track. Sort of like Yoda (same hair) but with serious daddy issues.

OK, Losties, discuss amongst yourselves.

BTW, these smileys make a nice Locke, don't they?

"Locke, push the button! Push the button! No!"

:argh:

"RUN!"

:nuke:

"I was wrong."

4. Batshit crazy? Maybe a little too harsh.
Locke means well, always has for the most part. The only things he's ever done that I think were way out of line were when he sabotaged efforts of the other Lost to get off the island. I don't care if you like it there Johnny boy, it's not always about you.

But his desperate quest for something greater than the pointless and often cruel existence he's lived up until the island has given him some insight into what's going on. So he has the potential to be a Jedi Master, so to speak. I think he's in the process of transforming himself into one, but he's still working out his issues that at times can make him act a little crazy. And he needs to stop being so selfish about wanting to stay on the island.

But overall, I like Locke. He's a pretty interesting dude, especially when he's able to enter that Jedi state and really get his wise man mojo going on. I see Locke as really two characters. One is the sad, obscure, somewhat pathetic man that has serious daddy issues. But out of that character is a Jedi Master slowly being born.

9. Locke's a bit of both.

He very wise at times.

Other times he's too preoccupied with finding out what fate
has in store for him to see the forest for the trees.

Remember when he was slipping into the hole with the black
cloud dragging him in? ( the same one that killed Eko). He told Jack to let go
of the rope that could save him. What?
Fortunately, Jack didn't let go.

12. I think Locke's going to oust Ben...
...in some kind of coup and end up being the leader of the Others.

Whearas Ben led through manipulation and intimidation, Locke's hold on the Others will be more cult-like.

Ben may die or he may end up being a pathetic character that is allowed to live on the fringes of the crash survivor's encampment.

The big question will continue to be, "Is Locke good or evil?".

13. Batshit Nuts
I've HAD IT with the Locke character. Very dissapointed in the writers- they took a character that was really strong and in the past season and a half have turned him into a giant pussy.
He's selfish, easily manipulated, and short sighted.

So annoying.
