(edited to remove the impression I'd reposted the same article 3 times)

Which role do you remember him best in?

1. Chris Kelvin in Solaris
I think it's his best work, from a sheer tour de force performance standpoint.

He was great in Good Night, and Good Luck too, of course.

3. "Return of the Killer Tomatoes," which was filmed in my neighborhood.
Well, about 4 or 5 scenes of it were filmed here, anyway. The scene where a crowd of people is running up a street chasing a tomato - that is the street I live on. The scene at "Seacoast Natural Foods" was filmed right here too (nowadays it's a Starbucks though). The scene in front of a thrift shop that says, "Homeless Look" was filmed right around the corner from me. In fact I tried to get into that scene by standing across the street so that my reflection appeared in the glass window. The director noticed it though, and someone asked me to move. I did take a picture of Clooney and the rest of the cast when they assembled for an informal cast photo. This was in 1987 and Clooney had long curly hair. Somewhere I still have that picture. I didn't really know who he was, but I had heard his name.
