Why is the best snack food on the planet all made around Lancaster County, PA?
Utz. Snyder's. Herr's. Bickle's. And more whose names I can't remember.

If it's salty and comes in a bag that you can't put down until you've finished everything inside, you can't do better than those folks out in the middle of Pennsylvania. Anyone know why?

(Yes, I know there are other local and regional brands that are damn good, and I'll take any recommendations, you can bet on that.)

5. IN my opinion, Snyder's of Hanover's sourdough hard pretzels can't be beaten...
by any other hard pretzel that I've ever eaten. :9

11. Snyder's of Hanover Multi Grain Sunflower Chips
40% less fat and 8 grams of whole grains per serving. These are so good. Way better than Sun Chips.

6. I was talking salty snax, or I'd certainly have mentioned Tasty-Kake. Another PA classic.

in my own kitchen. :bounce:

All the people I know from that area adore me now.

12. I favor their pies over the cake-type stuff, but I just BET your friends love them. You should
look into getting a commercial baking licence, or contracting a local commercial baker to private-label them from your recipe. You could make some big bux with your recipe.

(If Tasty Baking doesn't sell in your area, they can't give you a hard time (except your'd be well-advised to NOT name them anything that even SOUNDS like "Kandy Kake.")

8. Oh, is that where Utz comes from?
In the past couple of years, I suddenly started seeing Utz snacks all over the place. I had never seen or heard of Utz before, and I wondered if they were just some minor league brand. So you're saying that Utz is good?

9. Don't forget about nearby Gettysburg Pretzel Company. Best hard pretzels EVER.
I buy them by the box, and go through them WAY too fast. Luckily, my mother-in-law and her husband live there, and come out here so often to see their grandchild, I'm kept in constant supply. :)
