1. He can be self-righteous
...and bossy, and acts like Dr know-it-all -- but he's really passionate and sexy, too. I think he's my favorite d00d on the show.

I'm so happy that it's "Lost" night. :bounce:

16. The thing is, he's expected to lead, but he doesn't want to.
He gets forced into the leadership role, and then he gets undermined at every turn by the people who want him to lead. I think we'd all act like Jack if we were in his shoes.

2. A noble doctor
who at times can be an overbearing prick. But he means well, and overall he has done a lot of good in the situation that he finds himself in. I think the Losties are lucky to have him.

41. Yes indeed.
 Jack would have to be the next-to-last man on the island for me to even consider him. (Ben would have to be the last one. And even then, I'd have to think a long, long time about it. :puke:)

Desmond, Sawyer, and Sayid are definitely very do-able... :D

14. I think you're on to it
I think this is it. I don't think he is a fundamentally bad person, but his sense of self-importance and his lack of true introspection limits his capacity to lead.

There's an interesting essay in a book edited by Orson Scott Card, of all people, that makes a surprisingly good argument for Hurley being the real leadership genius on Craphole Island. He listens, weighs alternatives, is cognizant of the importance of morale, and has as least as much guts as the more traditionally heroic guys.

15. Noble doctor.
I really don't think he's been turned. After being held hostage for a week, seeing the girl you were falling for do the nasty with Sawyer, and then see your ticket off the island explode right in front of you, I can't really blame him for being a little distant or bitter.

38. Definitely NOT enough Sayid.....
Here's an interesting point made about Sayid based on the last episode.

http://darkufo.blogspot.com/

"You gotta love Sayid. Everything out of his mouth is important, and he asks the best questions. "Did any of you actually see this helicopter?" The first week on the island this might've seemed an unusual question, but three months later it's totally logical. The others in Naomi's tent are too caught up in possible rescue to remember that nothing on the island turns out to be what it seems. Almost everything comes with a catch - and Sayid's vision is still clear enough to know this."

And he looks soooo good in a white T-shirt!

46. I have only watched the first 2 seasons from netflix
At first, he was an admirable, courageous, selfless leader. A "hero." Remember when he dove into the ocean and saved that girl during season one? Then he sort of changed into a prick. As of the close of season 2, I can't stand him. I also can't stand Michael at this point, but don't tell me what happens since i haven's seen the other episodes.
