Well, maybe it's a pity party. ;(

For the first time since we met 2 years ago, my mate and I are spending a Saturday afternoon and evening apart. Not because of falling out, mind you. Just a *very important* event that she and her mother MUST attend tonight. And to make things worse, it's 3 hours away in Des Moines. Thus, an all day thing. I could have gone along, (hockey game, *barf!*), but a 3 hour trip both ways and getting home several hours past my bedtime on top of a hockey game I don't give a shit about is just too much to bear!

I'm bored to death. And TV is crap. So I'm cruisin' DU and the Lounge tonight. I'm going to take a quick bath, then cruise DU with a couple cocktails, and probably crash early.

So, tell me something about yourself. Or not. Ask something. Or not.

My answers:

"Tell me something about yourself": I don't care for hockey. (And I dislike Nascar even more)

"Ask something": Are you a dog person or a cat person. (Or neither, or both).

7. Just the cheap stuff, I think it's Paramount.
BTW, I saw a Letterman skit last night that mentioned "Elrond Hubbard". I had no idea the name had any significance outside of DU!

9. I have significance INSIDE Of DU?
Edited on Sat Apr-28-07 10:01 PM by Elrond Hubbard
I find this fascinating.
:D
Incidentally...Elrond Hubbard...is a nerdy play on the name 'L. Ron Hubbard'...make sense now? :)

12. Ahhh, L Ron Hubbard! I get it now!
Kind of like Jeadgar Hoover. :D That was also from some comedy skit years ago. And I am thinking it was a show by Lily Tomlin. (which makes it about ... 35 years ago?? )

13. Also, consider Elrond...
I'm not the first to think of the pun, obviously...I'm not THAT clever...but I didn't necessarily get it from somewhere else, either.
:D

15. I've tried Captain Morgan before which is a spiced rum. Awful!
We went on a riverboat cruise dinner over a year ago and that was the only kind of rum they had on board. I couldn't even finish one drink it was so bad. I switched to soda and coffee for the rest of the night.

22. It was a local Riverboat cruise, on the Missouri river
It's dinner and dancing, and an event held every year for local gay women.

The band was fantastic! The lead singer was Beth Mullaney, and she had quite a history to share about being banished from her church and community in Lincoln Ne when they found out she was gay. Quite an inspirational success story after enduring much hardship. Her home base is Vegas now, where she and her band are quite successful.

4. I've caught 87 fish this week
Two accidental bass, three crappies, and 82 tiny sunfish. It has all been catch and release except for the crappies. I pulled a ten inch crappie and two nine inch crappies out of a Twin Cities lake that is not known for fish of any size. In the past seven days I have shore fished from eleven different lakes.

When DU went to Defcon 2 I decided to go fishing for pan fish.

6. Now fishing is something we can both appreciate!
I don't particularly care to keep them or clean them, but we did find a good place for Walleye last year that were also decent size so me kept them. And fishing, by itself, is just very relaxing.

One of the best things about fishing is packing the portable grill and some dogs and weenies, and having a cookout.

8. I plan to fish every day (weather allowing) until ice forms this year
My wife and I have very stressful jobs, but last year we both discovered if we fished every night we completely forgot our job worries.

16. No, it's the Omaha Knights that they are rooting for, who are playing the Iowa team.
This is a Chapionship series, which is what makes it more important. The Knight's won last night, (they went to that game too and left me alone *sniff*), and if the Knights win tonight they HAVE TO go to the Championship game this Tuesday in Omaha.

17. Wow. I didn't know anyone cared that much
about minor league hockey. So, should we cheer against the Knights, so your mate is free Tuesday night?

Go Stars!!

20. LOL! Wouldn't that be toooo bad if the Knights lost tonight *evil grin*
Edited on Sat Apr-28-07 10:41 PM by Lil Missy
Naw, the mother/daughter outings are good for both of them, and they both LOVE hockey. I think it would be great for the Knight's to win the Championship, only because it is so important to both of them. Her mother is the hardcore one, and she busted out bawling when they won in overtime last night. (good grief :eyes:) Me. I'd rather watch grass grow.

21. My sister is a huge fan of the Rockford (IL) hockey team--
the...can't remember...something to do with pigs. Anyway, she drags me to games when I visit her. I don't find the hockey interesting, but the fans are nuts! Great people watching venue!
