2. Wow, I didn't know they were making a goldencompass movie...

I loved that book, read it when I was in high school....the subtle knife and the Amber Spyglass, the second and third books of the trilogy, were also very, very good. Infact Philip Pullman is an excellent author and he has written several other novels geared toward adolescents that I highly recommend.

30. The books sound like fun

I guess I will pick them up and read them as well. I find juvenile fantasy very, very creative, even more so than some of the adult stuff, which doesn't take many risks anymore. I'm glad to see, since Harry Potter, that the world of literature has flourished and that some of the old masters like Tolkein and C.S. Lewis are just as relevant as they were 40 years ago.
