My cat killed a BIRD!
Oh my god! My son is a KILLER!

This past weekend, we were in North Carolina seeing Michael's parents. They have this real cool bird feeder and a bird house. There was a nest of blue birds and I had the best time watching the mama and papa bird feed the babies.

Anywho ... I've been in this Miss Jane Hathaway mood of getting into birds.

WELL! I was in the bathroom shaving and I heard the is loud CLUMP on the deck. I feared the worst, I thought one of cats might have fell off the deck. I come out the living room and look out and Cosmo (one of my cats) has a poor little humming bird in his mouth.

I can't look at him the same anymore!!!

Oh shit! He just jumped on my lap and is looking at me funny.

If don't post tomorrow ... you'll know he's tasted blood and wants more .....

2. I accidently left the screen door open last night
and all three cats escaped out onto the porch. The three "tards" made it as far as four feet under the grill and had no idea what to do next. They normally spend all day torturing each other, but they were just sitting there not knowing what to do next.

8. heheh
welcome to my world.

My big boy cat brings me mice, rats, moles and the occasional gopher. He does it almost weekly. He's a stone-cold killer.

My middle boy has brought me a baby bird... once.

My little girl brings me earthworms. She's sorta 'tarded.

9. hummingbird is a fine meal
for a cat.

My mom's cat used to sit motionless in the flowers waiting for a hummingbird.

We put up feeders and the birds seemed to prefer those. The cat went back to stalking mice and moles.

17. When I had an apartment
Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 12:33 AM by pokerfan
my cat used to hunt for mice. He would eat everything except the skulls which he would deposit on my doorstep as some kind of fucked up trophy.

Maybe he was channeling a Cambodian warlord or something.

20. Probably right ..

Cosmo's our big loveable lug of a cat. That bird was probably real old and figured "Ah, hell let this big ass cat have a little fun. I'm out!"

21. They are just little bundles of instinct
killer instinct at that. My Ari (God rest his soul) was afraid of EVERYTHING!! People, thunder, a good stiff breeze. Fear wrapped in terror surrounded by fright. Until a mouse would wander into the house (I finally found the hole they were using). Then, suddenly, he was Ari of the Jungle! Fearless killer of all things rodential! Bloodthirsty ruler of Edgewood Drive! NO mouse stood a chance.

Really, just bundles of instinct. Really quite amazing.

Aren't they?

23. What's so funny about Cosmo
He has been a great "leaf hunter" since he was a kitten. I leaf would fall the deck (we live on the fourth floor of a condo building) and WHAM ... he was right on it. He would bring it into the house all proud. Today he saw that I was freaked out, but I had to do as we should with cats and say ...... "good boy, Cosmo. Good boy." In the back of my mind I was saying ...... "Oh great I gotta clean this up!"
