My CafePress bumper-sticker for my new Prius came today!

My new short.

So glad to be rid of this (6 months old, 3600 miles .. no loss incurred):

What a mistake that was!

3. OK. A rip-off of Fahrvergnügen ..
Fahrvergnügen: From fahren "to drive" and Vergnügen "pleasure". (The term was popularized in Volkswagen television commercials of the 1990's.)

6. Thanks Peggy! I'm fired!
I've owned two Porsches (a 1965 365SC and a 1978 911SC), and this little Prius kicks their ass! Fun-wise and smart-wise. I almost bought a Mini Cooper .. I am so glad I bought the Prius. I feel like I'm flying the Airbus 320 (fly-by-wire).

5. I test drove the prius a while back
Stunning, really. So very quiet.

Of course, I drive a rather loud roadster, so i'm not the best judge of the term "quiet" :silly:

13. Dr. D. has not been checked out on the Prius.
She got her new Volvo wagon on 3/31, the day after she was in that wreck that totaled her Saab wagon. I got my Prius 10 days later. She is in love with my Prius. She says she wishes we had two Priuses, now. But I think the Volvo will serve us well as a long-haul car. It is a good mix.

11. It won't take you long to start seeing impressive mileage -
I rented one for a week on vacation last year, and got about 46 mpg doing lots of stop and go driving, up and down hills (Monterey Peninsula area). I got 51 mpg on the drive back to San Jose, which was mostly highway driving. The Prius boards have lots of detailed info on driving techniques, but you'll be impressed from the get-go!

15. I'm learning from those Prius boards ..
I'm light-footed and well-informed on how the system works. I'm seeing 49 mpg before the car even has 500 miles on it. I understand that milage gets better with age. YMMV, eh?

19. Sounds like your mileage is excellent right out of the box -
I'm pretty sure the rental I drove had 8-10K miles on it already, so it was pretty much broken in already. A little more body roll than I was used to than the Hondas I've owned through the years, but I did test a Prius Touring edition a few months later and noticed the firmer handling.

17. Yeah! I remember the FUKENGRUVEN stickers (umlauded U's).
Loved 'em. I'm total counter-culture at heart, even though I'm countin' down to the big 6-0.

20. Damn .. me and you both.
I fool 'em until they read my LTTEs in the Greenville or Asheville papers. Then they say "WHAAAATTT? You think that way? Strange. So do I."

Takes a little spark. Then the fire starts. I know. I'm a Maytag (an agitator).
