60. He was involved in blacklisting, and union busting.
But I think the anti-semitism is mostly innuendo. He made a number of enemies in Hollywood, and the I've read the anti-semitism allegation is mostly slanderous.

And while I'm pro-labor and I don't want to sound like I'm not, from what I understand most of his anti-labor sentiment was based on his running into some particularly unsavory union bosses. The real corrupt kind.

I'm not trying to apologize for him, I just think "villain" is a bit over the top.

30. Thanks. I was gonna leave this one alone.
IMHO, Lee was a tragic figure.
Virginians' ties to their birthplace was incredibly strong back then.
Again IMHO, he was guilty of "My (native) country (Virginia), right or wrong" if anything.

100. Benedict Arnold was a scapegoat.
He was a hero in the French-Indian War. The Revolutionary War was dragging down and many officers wanted to toss in the towel and it was up to Bennie to lead the way. Of course, when he turned around, he was the only one holding the sack. I'm just saying, there more to this story than the lies we were told in 5th grade history.

22. Robert E. Lee?
Why? He opposed the war, did not want to see Virginia leave the union, was well respected by both sides, and supported much of Reconstruction after the war was over.

Sherman however basically lead a burn, rape, and pillage campaign for fantastic personal gain. After the war he continued to focused on the Indian wars. That is a villain, not Lee.

Not as much of a villain as say, Jefferson Davis, or Nathan Bedford Forrest.

But to take up arms over the right to "own" another person is still very wrong.

29. well...
Lee, based on his own writings before and after the war, was against slavery. He felt a loyalty to his state that was stronger than the slavery issue. Besides, there were many issues between the south and north at the time beyond slavery, and it was not as simplistic as "taking up arms for the right to own another person" for the people at the time.

Whilst on a plane, it was overheard by someone, I forgot who.

Earl Butz was sect of Agriculture and told Pat Boone that black people only wanted three things: "Loose shoes, a tight pussy and a warm place to shit".

This was reported to the media in a censored version and he was outta the Nixon Cabinet.

Oh, sure, he SEEMED so nice and mild mannered and helpful...That's how he reeled all of you in, so you wouldn't suspect him of carrying out his unspeakable acts.

83. The Virginia official interviewed on Dateline last night
I don't remember his name, only that he has some position in their Justice Department.

No, it's not too soon to determine if Virginia's gun laws are too lax. 33 people are dead because someone that no one wanted to be in the same room with was able to stroll in and buy an arsenel.

Just admit it.

How could we have made it this far on the list without Henry?

Never met a weapon of mass destruction he didn't love or insist we needed. He also lead the movement that you shouldn't care whether your neighbors or your fellow citizens needed help. He taught that selfishness and greed were all that was needed and all that was good. Mr.666 himself.

118. Dean Corll and Elmer Wayne Henley
Committed mass murders of young boys in 1973 in Houston. Largest mass murder in America at that time. Corll owned the house and Henley killed him to make him stop.
Henley is serving life in prison.

Corll's house was about a mile from where I grew up, and in a very similar 'hood.
