When did lies, slander and hate speech become a protected and popular part of our culture-is it simply a car wreck or are we collectively glad that it happened/is happeneing to the Clinton's (or fill in the blank) and not "us".

Got to agree, instilled a pattern of materialism and unrealistic reality on the 20 somethings of generation X. A sense of oblivious behavior came over this Xers to pattern their lives after fictional television characters. How many chicks had that damn Jennifer Anniston hair cut back in the day damn around 75-80%. How many idiots started hanging out at coffee house trying to be hipsters. I knew people who tried to form cliques of 3 men and 3 women to be exactly like the show WOW. How many people who patterned themselves after that show put themselves in financial hell trying to live like the characters on friends. I mean I don't even live in New York but the apartments they had you couldn't never afford doing working the career paths the characters had.
