Interest in politics is inherited. I have proof.
I just spent a week visiting my dad. We spent SOOOO much time discussing politics and current events. We'd read the papers over breakfast, our reading punctuated with "Did you read this?" or "This editorial completely gets it!". Long conversations about what Bill Richardson would do about trade agreements, or who the Dem (or Repug) nominee will be. And much talk about how to solve the mess in Iraq.

I don't know what other families do when visiting with one another, but we talk politics. It seems to be genetic. And I'm grateful for genes that make me so aware and concerned.

Thanks, Dad...and Mom!
