Lost, The Children of Men and The Stand,,,crazy theory
Let's surmise that the world was on the brink of nuclear war when Lost started. Also surmise that there were people in the world who were worried about the ramifications of the fertility of women as a result of this nuclear war. And they started a research lab in a far off island in the Pacific, staffed with the world's most preeminent expert prior to the war. Her credentials included knowledge of how a woman could get pregnant if she had been sterilized by radiation because of cancer treatments. First blast, and the plane goes down. The retaliatory strike, every woman in the world is sterile.

But prior to the second blast one women in the world becomes pregnant, Jin. And she is pregnant because she has been artificially inseminated by Ben prior to the second blast. But the others don't tell the world this. And they lie about her impregnation date. Religious link here, Ben is the the new Abraham, father of the new inhabitants of earth. He could rule the world if he was the only man on earth whose sperm could result in a child.

I need to work on this theory....any input would be greatly appreciated!
