Does anyone here take migraine meds that have few or no side effects?
I'm not looking for medical advice, mods - I'm just curious about other people's experiences with migraine meds because the ones I presently take leave me feeling really weird - lightheaded and kind of hungover.

I'm wondering if anyone is taking anything that doesn't have that effect - virtually everything I've tried does that to me.

1. Sorry. Can't help you.
The only thing that helps me is the Perc family of painkillers. Can't live on Percs, so I have a lot of migraines. I live with them.

2. I tried several until I found one with few side effects.
But I've never heard of one with no side effects.

I take Relpax. It makes me lightheaded and it triggers hot flashes.

3. I had Imigrin injections for a while.
Had to give them to myself and CRAZY expensive.

Made me feel like I had the weirdest pins and needles for about and hour then the migraine would lift off my body, kind of how you see a soul leaving a body in the movies. Definately an aquired feeling though, the first time I was kinda freaked out!

Would feel a bit crazy-town and slightly euphoric afterward but definately able to go and have a normal productive day.

The imigrin pills and trycyclics never worked for me.

5. Unfortunately Imitrex has never worked on my migraines
I'm taking Frova right now. I've tried Imitrex, Zomig, some others I can't remember the names of (especially since I took one this morning and feel like I have a head full of grape jelly).

I guess side effects are just a fact of life with that kind of med.

6. I take 50mg of Imitrex (tablets).

They work well for me with no side effects, but fortunately I only get migraines every month or two. I've heard the Imitrex injections work well for severe Migraines. I've also heard Topamax has good results for some too.
