So my neighbor called the cops on me today.
My neighbor came over today and started pounding on my front door and ringing the doorbell. I had just gotten out of the shower and wasn't expecting anyone so at first I let the doorbell ring. Then he started pounding on the door. My daughter was sleeping on the couch.
I go to the door and look through the peephole and asked "Can I help you?"
The guy says he is my neighbor and says something I can't understand. I open the big door but not the security door and he says "Someone in this house hit my car." I open the door and tell him no, no it's a mistake no one in this house hit your car. I haven't left all day and my daughter has been at school (college) all day. Then he says "No, this was two weeks ago." I assured him again that no one in this house had hit his car today, two weeks ago or whenever. If we'd have hit his car, we certainly would have told him. He starts pointing to the driveway to my daughter's Reagan era Volvo and says "Your car has damage." I tried to explain to him that we bought the car that way (the dents have rust) and he yells "I'm calling the police to file a report" to which I respond "Go ahead."
Then I start thinking this guy is nuts. I decide to call the police and they show up a little later (turns out he had called them as well according to the dispatcher) and after talking to him assure him that my car or my daughter's could not have caused the damage to his vehicle. I also ask the police to have him refrain from banging on my front door, peering in my windows and canvassing my (private) property for vehicles with damage.
So I have lived here safely for the last six years and all of a sudden I have this litigious nut living across the street. He just bought the house about six months ago. Today is the first time I've ever laid eyes on him. Needless to say, I'm still pretty worked up about it. My bewilderment and dismay has turned to anger.
Sometimes your neighbors suck and they're crazy. I don't know what else to say.

1. If he keeps bothering you...
get a restraining order to keep him off of your property...

He can be arrested for trespassing, too.

what a huge bother, and right across the street!!? I have no patience for this kinda crap but I really don't know what I'd do if I couldn't shake it off.
I hope he settles down, maybe after it's blown over he'll start to look back and see what an asshole he madde of himself.. just give him space, treat him like a ten-year-old.
