What (tech) products bug you the most?

Technology constantly annoys me. I don’t know if that surprises you or not, after all I truly love the stuff. But, since I am enthralled with gadgets and technology, really awful technology may bother me more than most.

You’ll also find a poll on that page - you get to vote on which products annoy you the most. Feel free. And if you have some thoughts about annoying technology - hardware or software - you are welcome to post them here too.

Me? My most annoying product isn’t on the list you’ll find on the linked page. But there is room for a write-in candidate and I’ve already made my vote. I’ll let you know about the products I hate later, I don’t want to influence your thinking - but I will mention it today or tomorrow if you’re interested.

Automated customer service

1. cell phones

I hate my cell phone. it takes pictures, plays music and does everything but make a clear phone call. I hate having this damn leash around me all of the time. I cant get away from the damn thing.

3. The small size of cameras

My doctor's office had not one, but at least two little cameras hidden in 3-D pictures on the wall in the waiting room. That way the receptionist could be in the back filing papers and keep an eye out for new patients coming into the waiting room.
Made me wonder where else they were watching the patients at.

4. iPods

i fucking hate those things

and hands-free cell phone kits...either concentrate on the call or concentrate on what you're doing - mostly i just hate cell phones in general

well what the hell did you do before it came around? sit in a corner sucking your thumb all day? get a life!

You can use it for being something beside a media slave...

iPods are a pain to use... I do have a portable MP3 player. Guess what, it has more room than an iPod, a color interactive display, and I can play whatever music I want.

Oh yeah, it's cheaper too.

Oh, and for worst tech, I would say either hands-free cell phones or the goddamn nextel noise that people think is stylish, but is actually fucking annoying

OK, I can see where it might be handy if you're driving, but when your in line at Starbucks waiting to order a $9 latte, the rest of the line doesnt want to hear you talking to yourself. And for gods sakes, TAKE IT OFF YOUR EAR WHEN YOURE DONE. Its not a friking status symbol.

11. It's Not the Devices Per Se

It's the people who use them. The jerks who stand in the middle of the supermarket aisles yacking into their cellphones about their sex lives and bowel disorders are merely annoying; the ones holding cell phones to their ears while speeding their SUVs in traffic are dangerous.

I will say this for iPods: if you're not the one actually using them, they're quiet. A vast improvement over those over sized portable stereos that used to be so popular.
