5. A local theter is doing a "sing along" version next month.
for one weekend, they show the film with subtitles during the songs, and the audience sings along. They also have prizes for best costumes. Kind of like "Rocky Horror" for a G-rated crowd.

6. I think it sounds fun, but be prepared for men dressed as nuns to show up!
My dream vacation trip to Salzburg would involve me finding clothes that resemble some of the outfits Julie Andrews wears in the movie and having a travelling companion take photos of me in movie poses outside of some of the places from the movie. Or I could wear a habit, either way, the pictures would make great Christmas cards.

7. I've been to Salzburg
prepare to be disappointed. Only one location there was actually used in the movie (according to our tour guide). If you remember the scene with the kids all climbing up trees, and the car with the dad driving below. Other than that, everything was filmed elsewhere.

But it is a beautiful city, with lots of history, so dont let that stop you. See the Mozart museum, the church, and the castle.
