It looks like a good one.

We will be eating indoors, the temp is to cold to be outside.

1. We're having turkey
Sort of weird to have turkey for Easter, but I think it sounds wonderful.

2. Sounds good to me.
If I was feeling better I would fry a turkey.

A roast will just have to do.

3. Same here. Too cool for dining al fresco.
Had to pull all the tables inside.
The traditional.
Ham, tater salad, and I'm not sure what else.
Folks are bringing stuff.
Oh, and Mustard Mold.
It's a sweet/hot mustard gelatin/custard thing.
Goes great with ham.
Bloody Marys and Mimosas.
Bon appetit.

14. Brrrrrr....it's cold here, too.
I'm going to fire up the smoker in a bit, and also light the chiminea, and sit on the back porch by the fire. OH! And I almost forgot...we've got to dye Easter eggs tonight.

How are you doing? Have y'all had any rain or sleet today?

:hi:

17. I wish I could join you by the chiminea, I have one to for the deck.
I am coming down with something so I am staying inside, otherwise we would be having fried turkey.

We have had rain most of the day but no sleet.

The kids want to have a Easter egg hunt but if it is raining it will have to be inside.

I won a bet, I said we would have one more cold front and it would be on Easter.

23. My mom's a texan...
(I am too, but she knows all the ol' folklore) and she says that since it thundered on the last day of February, that's why we're having a freeze on Easter. :D

Hope you get to feelin' better. Now I've got to get my bahonkus up and go smoke a ham.
:D

30. This is from a British cookbook, "Family Cookbook in Colour",
by Marguerite Patten, 1968.

1 15oz tin of baked beans (Great Northern work well too)
1 cup fine fresh bread crumbs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 medium onion, chopped finely
seasoning (I like marjoram, sage and Worchestershire)
1 egg
1 TBS chopped parsley
1 TBS milk
1/4 cup butter or oil or substitute
cayenne to taste

Mix all ingredients together, using half the fat. Heat a 9 x 5 loaf baking pan in a 350 degree oven, grease it with the remaining fat, and add the mixture. Smooth into a loaf. I like to top it with ketchup or other tomato sauce. Cover with greased aluminum foil and bake for about one hour in a 365 degree oven. It's done when a knife comes out clean.

Leftover loaf makes the best sandwiches!!!

22. We have decided NOT to have the traditional Easter dinner.
Normally I would cook ham, mashed potatoes, asparagus, carrots, and dinner rolls.

I forgot to take a ham out of the freezer, and I don't feel like going to buy another one.

Mr. LIW and I decided it would be more fun to spend some time in the kitchen together making an Easter brunch. I will make cinnamon bread for French toast, and we'll have bacon, eggs, and orange juice too; we'll look through some cookbooks to find some other interesting recipes to try.

31. Coldest Easter since 1930 here in Minnesota, so no outdoors for us either!
We're doing ham and green bean casserole (from scratch; none of that damn canned cream of mushroom soup shit) and corn muffins and pumpkin muffins and baked potatoes and oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies and spinach salad and I think that's it.
