and the escargot in your pics- in the nuclear reactor-looking ramekin is the way i like best-and unfortunately the hardest to find at restaurants...i really don't need/want to deal with the re-usable shells at the table.

back in my fine-dining waitcaptain days, i used to love it when the chef had escargot at the nightly tasting, because none of the waitressi could stomach it- and i'd get pretty much the whole ramekin to myself.



mmmmmmmmm....snails...aaaaarghhh....

12. Raw oysters on a saltine cracker with cocktail sauce and some horseradish
cannot be beat.

Escargot is a close second only if there is bread to soak up the oil and sauce from the plate.

Mussels are good if you're in Belgium. I could also go for a fried shrimp poboy.

Holy crap, I'm hungry.

13. I voted lobster, but it's a hard choice, between that and scallops and King Crab
