1. I was not within his broadcast range, sadly.
But I remember hearing about him, along with others, like Svengoolie.

Trivia Time: Ghoulardi is, I believe, the father of filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

4. Yep
And in-jokes from his Dad's show are sprinkled in most of his moves, too; Phil "Parma" in Magnolia is named after a suburb in Cleveland that got the brunt of Ghoulardi's (and later, The Ghoul and Houlihan and Big Chuck) wrath during the show..

2. He went off the air here when I was 2
But he is pretty much a legend in Cleveland. The Ghoul was "it" when I was a kid.

5. Big Chuck is still on with Lil' John
Did you ever go to Hudson haunted house to see the Ghoul? And that time when someone kidnapped Froggy..LOL.

6. Oh God, yes
The Hudson Haunted House was THE Haunted House to go to when we were kids; that was a great time. I think The Ghoul blowing up shit (usually sweet model cars)w/ firecrackers sold more firecrackers during that time than the 4th Of July.

A friend keeps telling me about some guy named Son Of Ghoul that does a show in NE Ohio now; is he any good?

7. I've only watched him once, he wasn't that good
The Ghoul was on again for a while, but I don't know if he is anymore. If I remember correctly, didn't he get kicked off the air in the 70s for something to do with a pigeon and a firecracker?..LOL.

When I was in grade school, for our school pictures, about 10 of the kids passed a Froggy around to be in the picture with them. You know? When you could pose with something?

That shit was so funny for 10 year old boys back then..LOL. What-r-ya..from Parma?

Yeah, I watched Big Chuck this morning and they showed a Mary Hartski bit. Funny to see Dick Goddard so young, he is still on the air.

8. Son of the Ghoul? Dunno about that - Ron Sweed still does a show as the Ghoul.
And he's the same guy who's been doing it since '71.

10. Huh. I missed that altogether.
Yeah, Sweed's still on. He's in one or two of those creepy nicotine-throated Norton Furniture ads, too.

15. Turn Blue! Ghoulardi was a ritual at our house in mid-Ohio in the 60's.
A couple of years ago I bought a Ghoulardi t-shirt off ebay for my brother's birthday.
