Tomorrow, mid-morning for us on the Left Coast...
I will be running my long legs off on a treadmill.....

While being watched by my careful and very smart cardiologist....

It's just routine, but still.....

I've done treadmills before, but you can't be too careful....

Or have too many Lounge vibes...

How's about it, gang?

I want to come through this unscathed.....

:scared:

2. Good luck!
I hope they find nothing of note.

I had to have a stress test last year, and because I can't do the treadmill they gave me a drug induced stress test. It was really no big deal. I barely felt my heart racing. Still no explanation for the chest pains I was having, but they went away and there was no problem with my heart. I hope you are as fortunate.

Thank you, sweetie.....

Sorry you had to undergo that......and glad you're OK!

Mine is routine, but last time I did have a short run of V-Tach...3 PVC's (premature beats) in a row.....

My doctor and I both observed them go by, and he asked me to never run on a treadmill at the gym!

I told him not to worry....I hate treadmills!

16. Go for it Peggy!
Vibes to you. This post made me smile because it reminded me of an aunt and uncle who had to do these stress tests last year. They normally do not exercise much but my uncle bought a treadmill just to 'study' for the stress test because they are very competitive with each other and he wanted to make sure that he 'beat' his wife when the results came back.

Good luck to you!

Please think about me next Tuesday. That's when I will be doing the same thing. :scared:

My first one. My mother had to have triple bypass last spring, so I have a family history. My cholesterol is high, too, so my doctor thought it was a good time to see how all the hook ups are holding up.

I'll send some powerful lounge vibes.

I've been experiencing a little shortness of breath (could be normal fatigue) that I started noticing about a year ago. My blood pressure has always been perfect -- my only other warning sign has been the cholesterol.

I'm not too worried, am just glad to be getting on top of it. I DO NOT want to look down the road to a bypass scenario, so if I can catch this early and do all the right things -- I think that it will be fine. My doc is being cautious and proactive. I watched my mother go through it last spring, and it was pretty scary.

I want to live a long time, and that means taking care of myself...

Even though these tests are a little scary, I trust my doctor with my life (literally) and he has never let me down...

I want all of you to live a long time too!

Otherwise, I would be very lonely.......

Ah, yes they are interesting, aren't they?

I'm done, and successfully too.......See post #55!

I love my cardiologist, but he kept the screen turned away so I couldn't see my EKG while I was running!

Good to see you today, sweetie!

71. So how did it go, CP?
:hi:

How was it for you? Did they run your legs off? :D

Having congenital heart defects, I've done those before. I've done a treadmill test and and bicycle test for endurance. Annoying to be sure, but it's good to have the data.

Hope you're treating yourself tonight as a reward.

74. My dear supernova!
It went very well, thanks!

I ran for about five minutes (seemed longer!) and he varied the speed and incline of the treadmill, of course!

I did get short of breath, but I was too far back on the treadmill...

When he suggested that I move up towards the front, I felt better.

Afterwards, he and I both saw one PAC and one PVC...which is nothing in the grand scheme of things!

Nah, no rewards.......just knowing I did well is reward enough!

75. Been there, done that last Spring
My physical uncovered "abnormalities" in my EKG. Piece of cake. I rode my bicycle to the stress test just to freak them out. Good vibes comin at ya.

EKG's often show stuff that turns out to be of no consequence...

But it's always good to really check these things out....

I did well today, and now I'm happy.......

And I'm glad to hear that you're OK too!

Thanks for your good vibes!

79. I know, but my doc was looking at it in light of
my dangerously high BP. It was doing OK off of meds for a long time, but it crept back up. A nurse at the office checked it that morning at my request and it was 235 / 135. Needless to say, she freaked out over it and brought in the portable EKG. They adjusted my meds and now I'm back amoung the living. Glad to hear you checked out OK. We want to keep you around for a loooooooong time.

As a retired nurse, I can tell you, it's a very good thing that you had it checked out......

Before you did!:scared:

Thank you for your very kind words.....I plan to be among the living for many, many years...

Ah, sweetie! You wouldn't say that if you knew my doctor...

He was thrilled today when I passed my treadmill...

I've known him for many years, and I trust and love him...

He is super intelligent, and funny...

For instance...when he was in medical school, he was a DJ ...

And when he travels, he tells people that he's a pump mechanic, instead of a cardiologist!

He never wants to find anything wrong with me...but he does want me live a very long time...

I'm due for a stress test, but they turn me radioactive beforehand. Yes, I get what the Chimperor would call a "nuke-yuh-lur" stress test :eyes:

Go get 'em!
