3. I adore her and think she's got talent. But she looks real good too,
and television of this era generally prefers to put looks well above talent.

16. There's the exception to every rule, but it lends cred to what I had said,
she was hired for her ability to cook (though her pizazz isn't exactly overlooked either...)

but do believe that she has become a bit over-exposed which is leading to the backlash against her.

but most people probably know someone in real life who is prettier.

i cant speak to her ability though, since i havent really watched any of her shows to completion.

And she got her job because of her abilities, not because of her looks. She used to have REALLY BAD hair.

I still love Tony Bourdains' take on her.
http://blog.ruhlman.com/2007/02/guest_blogging_.html
RACHAEL: Complain all you want. It’s like railing against the pounding surf. She only grows stronger and more powerful. Her ear-shattering tones louder and louder. We KNOW she can’t cook. She shrewdly tells us so. So...what is she selling us? Really? She’s selling us satisfaction, the smug reassurance that mediocrity is quite enough. She’s a friendly, familiar face who appears regularly on our screens to tell us that “Even your dumb, lazy ass can cook this!” Wallowing in your own crapulence on your Cheeto-littered couch you watch her and think, “Hell…I could do that. I ain’t gonna…but I could--if I wanted! Now where’s my damn jug a Diet Pepsi?” Where the saintly Julia Child sought to raise expectations, to enlighten us, make us better--teach us--and in fact, did, Rachael uses her strange and terrible powers to narcotize her public with her hypnotic mantra of Yummo and Evoo and Sammys. “You’re doing just fine. You don’t even have to chop an onion--you can buy it already chopped. Aspire to nothing…Just sit there. Have another Triscuit…Sleep….sleep….”

19. She has no abilities - She is a corporate shill
No knife skills - I wait for the day when she does a SNL Julia Child on live TV .
The worst hygiene I've ever seen outside of my MIL's kitchen - using a knife and cutting board for poultry and then immediately using the same tools WITHOUT WASHING OR WIPING DOWN!!! for vegetables.
No idea of flavour profiles except those that are given to her by a production team.
No knowledge of ingredients - particularly egregious being her use of extra virgin olive oil to saute in, because its flavour is destroyed when heated to that degree.
Her use of processed food.
Her total lack of knowledge of professional kitchen work ethic.

In the words of Gareth Blackstock, "I hate her with a passion she can only dream of!!"

Have you ever seen her daytime show?

She thinks that she is just the niftiest, hippest person in the world. She looks into the mirror before she goes on set and says, "Rachael, baby, you are soooo cool."

I don't like her. Conceited no-talent bobblehead.

For her shoddy tipping. If I were a waitress, I'd through the 67 cents back at Rachael. And I'd say, "Thanks, skank."

47. Throwing a tip. Let me tell you a story.
Thirty years ago I was dating a lady and we went out to dinner almost all the time. One evening we had horrible service. It got worse all through the meal. My girl friend said let her pay. She put the money down and said let's go. Out we went and about the time we were across the street almost to the truck the waitress came out the door and yelled here's your tip back and threw it at us. I Think Tina left her about $0.67. It was priceless.

I am not a kitchen show critic, nor can I cook. So i dont know if she has got skillz or not.

I am a guy though, and I do know that I do not find her all that attractive. She doesn't seem all that intelligent to me, and ditsiness turns me off.

Giada on the other hand, HOLY SHIT that woman is hot.

edited for this hilarious photo...

What I find amazing now that I have thought about this some is this, Giada has a huge following, men know who she is, men know who rachel ray is because she was in Maxim/Stuff/FHM/ etc...

That has to say something about both their beauty and talent.
