Four years of bodybuilding
I found this on digg. Pics taken a month apart for four years.

The title implies that it took four years to get buff, but in reality, he looked great at six months. And since my body looks similar to pic #3, I'm only four months away from buff, not that I'm even considering excercise!

Gee, I wonder how THAT happened!

Didn't take him too long to discover the tanning bed, in any case...

6. Ah, yes...John Stone
VERY controversial set of pics in the bodybuilding forums.

I don't know the guy, but I'd take this "progress" with a grain of salt.

27. I'll never suggest juicing
without something better to back it up.

I've been accused of it here on DU without reason, without regard. I wish DUers would otherwise NOT make accusations in relation to illegal drug use here without knowing what the fuck they're talking about.

Yeah, that's right...I've been accused of it. To me, that sorta seems like a "locked thread" or subthread, or whatever, right?

Oh, no. Not here. One can accuse another DUer of being a (and I quote) a "steroid hyped ape" and not have any issue nor backlash.

Meh...but oh, well, right? Accusing one of illegal drug usage is okay here.

Shit, that's gotta suck for someone.

42. So you just imply he's using
By saying we should take his progress with a grain of salt. Eh, okay, big difference.

Oh wait, nope, basically the same thing.

And wouldn't a BB that got great gains without steroids be glad people think he cheats? Afterall, it would mean either his regiment or his genes or both are ideal.

I notice that about "buff" men--their arms stick out, like apes.

You don't need the "TP-on-a-handle" until you start looking like this:

And even then it's a "maybe."

I'm not speaking from experience either-I'm only average strength, maybe a weensy bit above in the biceps-just sharing a guess.

That's just dumb -- and I'm not advocating the "overly" muscular build -- but whoever told you that
sounds pretty stupid or maybe jealous.

I'de rather look at muscles than flab, though my personal preference is muscular and defined, but not as huge as his later pics.

22. Because his back is big
Those big muscles you see flaring out in bodybuilders' backs. They're very big muscles to begin with and very easy to develop.

When they're overdeveloped, the upper arms sort of rest on them, making the person, from the front, look as if he's holding his arms out. Of course the radius of the upper arm has increased as well, further pushing the elbow away from the body.

Than lean and sleek look is what's desired these days. A bulked up build does not have the favor it used to.

31. No, he started the 'roids in early fall '04.
He loses all body fat in the first six months,
then he shows ZERO change for over a year....

Then, between 9/04 and 12/04, he suddenly starts
adding noticable body mass. The increase speeds up
in later photos, but late 04 is when it starts.

Seriously: from the 5/6/03 pic to the 9/6/04 pic,
he's the SAME SIZE for a year and a 4 months.

Then 3 months later, in the 12/6/04 pic, he's suddenly
NOTICABLY larger, and he just gets bigger by the month
from then on.

I mean, he's relatively lean in November and in March he's Vernon Davis? UH-uh.

40. Wonder if he switched products, or just upped the dose?
Of course, I can't claim to PERFECTLY pinpoint
when he started juicing. But it's REALLY pretty
apparent that he is when you see a 4-month growth
spurt like that, innit?

41. Right, especially one so . . . inflated.
He would be just fine and more than accomplished enough after 7 months. I don't really see why someone who's apparently ectomorphic would want to steroid himself up for competitive bodybuilding.

28. He looked so good around the end of 2004.
I don't care for the later pics, though they're a hell of a lot better than before he started at all.. They remind me too much of my last ex.

One of son's many jobs while in Grad School is a Personal Trainer. He's been working out in the gym since he was quite young.
He was starting to get too bulky, so he changed his routine
and now has a longer, leaner, yet very defined look. I also train, and being very petite, I had to be careful not to get a squat look. (I'm a 5'1" female.)

34. Wonder how he would have looked minus the juice?
And don't tell me that guy got that way naturally. A non-mesomorph such as him isn't two years into being relatively lean in November and all of a sudden looks like an NFL tight end three months later without juice.

I think he should have stopped after seven months. That added bulk's gonna dog you later on in life.
