The thread is entitled. Are you nuclear ready?

But you have to get a load of this responce. Koolaid sales over there must be booming!!!

"well, we have duct tape and painters tape and lots of plastic dropcloth stuff on rolls (buy it at Home Depot - it's perfect. it opens up really wide and you cut it to length) and we can close off the bedrooms and one bath and sleep on the couch and recliner. Food in the deep freeze and pantry and bottled water in the garage. Guns, ammo and now (sadly) no dog to worry after. I think I may have to get us some iodine capsules but I think we'd be good to go - IF something were to happen when we're both at home.

Actually, even if something were to happen when we're at work, we'd still be able to get home before fallout was an issue. But that just covers the two of us. I'd be worried sick about the rest of the family. grands and grown kids all over the country.

And yes - I agree - watching Jericho has made me think of these things more seriously..."

on edit: Had to add this quote...

"Dont you know that we wont have to go through any of that? Born again believers in Christ will not be going through any type of nuclear devastation. We will be raptured with all of the followers of Jesus in the clouds to meet Him.

You may build all the nuclear huts or hidaway places you want, but if your a true believer you wont need it. Just keep shining the light that you are and skip all that unnecessary work"

1. Sounds like defenses to fission "atom bombs."
The blast radius of a hydrogen bomb is several miles. It reaches an altitude of several dozen miles. Frankly, there is no escape from that kind of a weapon.

"we'd still be able to get home before fallout was an issue."

No, he'd be vaporized. I don't know that fallout is really the main problem with the H-bomb which employs a rather small amount of radioactive material. The real problem is that the blast is miles wide and hotter than the sun.

2. What seems to me is that this rapture-gasm
fundies have is due to them thinking that they aren't gonna have to go through the death process. They'll be swept up into heaven like nothing ever happened. There'll be no sickness, no pain, no sudden death by accident. One minute they'll be watching TV, the next minute they'll be with God.

5. Isn't there a whole debate about "pre-tribulation" vs. "post-tribulation"?
Or even "mid-tribulation"?

:dilemma:

6. And just think, the writer of this little gem may be your next door neighbor.
Isn't that a comforting thought?

9. What are you talking about?
He IS my next door neighbor. First thing he asked me when I moved in was if I had found a church yet.
