Blue Man Group - Anyone Seen Them?
I'm looking into getting tickets for the Philadelphia show at the Wachovia Center and have no idea which seats to purchase until I find out where they position their stage. Anyone that's seen them - is their stage in the usual place or in the middle?

1. I have their concert DVD
If they still set up that way, they spread out across the entire stage. Looks like the best place to be is toward the center, as close to the front as you can get. They really go in for audience participation, so those up close will really get their money's worth!

Their web site is worth browsing, as it has a good choice of multimedia from the DVD and other events.

3. I saw them in Vegas in January
Prisoner Number Six gave the correct advice, be toward the center. The whole show is an assault on the senses, sight, touch, and hearing. They work your sight with color and light. Work your hearing with sound, especially with percussion. And your sense of touch? You'll see, I don't want to spoil it.
I thought it was bizarre when the show first started but I really enjoyed it.

6. Saw 'em in Vegas in 2001. They were terrific.
There is a lot of audience participation, so I would sit as close to the front and center as possible.

9. Seen Them In Chicago...
a few years back. They were the half-time entertainment for the Big 10 tourney. They were all over the floor, but mainly in the center. It was an excellent show.

11. Saw them in Boston. Do it!
One of the best shows I've ever seen.
Funny, quirky, lots of percussion (but like nothing you've ever seen before).

12. Yes, a great many people have seen them. I've seen them three times.
I've only seen them in NYC in their homebase theater, a very long and narrow parellelepiped with a balcony, so have no idea what they do in other places. But generally the front few rows have a good chance of getting something sprayed on them.

At their home theater, the Blue Man even crawl up into the balcony and walk across the chairs, and so people there have a good chance of going home with some paint on them. I did once! A Blue Man used my head for support as he crawled over my chair.

Great, great show, though by the third time it wasn't as much fun, since it never changed. That's my only complaint with the Blue Man Group is that they don't change the show.

13. Just to make sure before I spend close to $300

By the center, do you mean in the middle of the venue with seats all around, or the classic setup with the stage all the way to one end with seats in a semi-circle in front and around it?

Another question that occured to me, we want to take our 13 year old son. Is it appropriate?

On Edit - Rabrrrr, I posted before I saw your response. It sounds like it's a stage with seats sort of semi-circle.
