Is that the dry look or a predecessor of the dry look? Was thinking of doing my hair that way and wanted to know the name of it. (And don't tell me it is called 'Arthur' or anything like that!) Thanks

1. It's a rug.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Connery#Trivia

He wore a toupee in all the James Bond movies. He began losing his hair at 21. Privately and in most other movies, he wears none.

Could a rug be considered "a predecessor of the dry look"?

2. Let's pretend it is not a rug, but an actual hair style.
What is it called? Let's pretend instead of Connery it is Bill Shatner from the old Star Trek. Oh, wait, that's also a rug.
