Sonic Youth to perform "Daydream Nation" at Greek, LA, July 20, 2007
Edited on Thu Mar-29-07 10:09 AM by swag
The password for this presale is "Daydream".

Me, I was always mystified at the critics and college kids who held Daydream Nation in such high regard. I was (and still am) quite disappointed in the lazy, sprawling, baggy mess. Evol and Sister which preceded it, and which eluded the sniffers of Bob Christgau (and his big fucking dick) and his ilk were brilliant. Why people did and still do latch on to Daydream Nation as some kind of touchstone is beyond me.

De gustibus non disputandum and all that shit, I guess.

on edit: apparently the presale begins at 10 a.m. Pacific, per indie103

Indie 103.1 presents Sonic Youth at The Greek on July 20th, to do a special performance of the "Daydream Nation" album. Tickets to on sale Saturday, but you can buy them first. Click this link and enter the password "daydream" to buy your tickets before they go on sale. Pre-sale begins Thursday at 10 AM and ends Friday at 10 PM.

1. Evol = Yay
Daydream Nation = Meh

Christgau = had to eat his words and admit they were in fact genius. :patriot:

2. I think Christgau held a grudge because some "Forced Exposure" reader
and Sonic Youth fan once put a cigarette out on his neck at a show.
