we've been getting these calls for a month or so....always early in the morning or around 7 at night

grrrrrr....stop calling us!

Find out, call them and tell them to take your number off the call-list.

3. Have you been able to find out what it's all about?

If so, it might give you an idea about who's running this scam, and you can direct your comments to them. Have you tried the reverse phone directory? Or just plain googling the number they tell you to call?

next time they call I'll actually pay attention to the number and google it....

5. they're Looking for that guy

which is weird. yeah someone Lived there before us, but we kept our same number.

6. It's usually turned out to be collectors calling someone's

old number, which now happens to be our number.

I was getting them for a while and it really annoyed me - okay, so it's not a sales or solicitation call, why not tell me what the fuck it is and maybe I'll get back to you?

I don't return calls to people who leave cryptic messages. I just turn down the volume on the machine.

8. It sounds like a collector

we got those for awhile when we had some unpaid medical bills.

9. Probably bill collectors.

I get them occasionally for the man who had this number before me. They quit calling when I tell them them it's no longer his number. Except the one collector who didn't believe me. :eyes:
