That's all the little girls down here wear for spring, summer and parts of the fall.

She has them in quite a few colors too.

20. Not only ugly, but FUGLY!
I won't be caught dead in a pair of those idiotic shoes. Barefoot, water shoes, sneakers, dress shoes, or a good pair of Wesco boots are my choices.

17. Yes very
I have black ones, so they aren't quite as loud as the neon colored ones. They are very comfy and I can use them at the beach, in the garden, in the store, as slippers, wherever. The aren't the prettiest things out there, but I can be in them all day without my feet hurting.

I wear them around the house when I just need something to slip on really quick to go outside. I wouldn't be caught dead in them anywhere else.

25. Hmmmm.... my mother--in-law talked me into a pair. Wish I'd been stronger.
I was prepared to pick up a pair of knock-offs and she encouraged me to buy the real thing. I then got my kids some of the knock-offs because they wanted some too. I honestly couldn't tell much of a difference. Oh, except the fact that my kids were able to tear the straps on the Crocs within 24 hours of me owning them and their knock-offs seems to be indestructible.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them in public, but I have a lot of tile in my house that hurts my feet if I go barefoot. I wore the Crocs for two days and went back to flip flops. Comfy is not a word I would use with the Crocs. But then I like to wriggle my toes. Give me a pair of flip flops with the scruffy scrubber material on the inside of the sole (don't know how else to describe it) any day.

I got one of the pair with no holes---I think it's called the Aspen, don't quote me---and they're just fine. Hell, I drum wearing them, despite the flak I get for it.

29. To those who think Crocs are so ugly...
Clearly the OP thinks they're fun/cute if they asked the question so why the need to rain on their parade?

Grasswire asked if they were comfy, not whether or not your Great Fashion Wisdom deemed them a worthy purchase. Nobody said you had to like them, I certainly think a lot of popular fashions are hideous. But why not just refrain from commenting then?

30. I prefer SAS shoes--with styles that I can actually wear to work
They are extremely comfortable & long-lasting, although the color selection is limited. I have narrow feet & couldn't wear Crocs--but I like the weird colors.

When I'm feeling really informal, I go with thongs. As long as there's a bit of arch support. Target sells some good ones.

33. Those things are EVERYWHERE down here
Everyone wears them. So funny to see these grizzled old charterboat captains with them on...or the tattooed old guy who is our courier for our building. But everyone wears them. They're especially popular with nurses. A friend of mine (RN) has a pair in every color.

I used to have a pair of clogs i wore in the garden and everywhere during mud season. It took me two steps to figure out that with Crocs the holes let all the water in!

38. Probably why they're so popular down here.
you can go in and out of the water in them and they dry fast. I find them slippery in mud though. Fell on my butt a couple of times.

37. I wear the sandals now. My son wears the Islanders
Edited on Thu Mar-29-07 02:34 PM by Maddy McCall
I've been through about five pairs, my son about seven pairs. They're fading as a fad here, but I still buy them. The most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. Since it's summer, I'm wearing my two pairs of crocs flip flops...like walking on air.

I've got this pair:

And a pair that is green and pink, that look like watermelons.

These are my son's favorites--the Islanders:

No offense but they are UGLY! I always think whoever's wearing them must suffer from bad feet. A lady at work wears them and you can always tell when she's coming...shuffle, scuff, shuffle, scuff. They're akin to the jelly craze back whenever that was.

45. They are uglier than all get out, but quite comfy.
They saved my feet at my last job. I worked in a cafe/sandwich place, and we had to stand all day on a cement floor, they really saved my feet. And they were fantastic in the summer, because of the holes, kept my feet covered and cool.
