Do you like "Techno" music?
I do, some.

I'm listening to the Techno re-make of "Popcorn" right now.
Good tune.

1. I'm more into electronica and drum & bass.
Which I guess falls under the techno umbrella.

5. There's this one song that I've been hearing recently
and haven't caught the artist.

It samples the "Knight Rider" theme song and I think it's called "Cars".

24. That might be Fat Boy Slim. I think he did the theme
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 04:28 PM by sammythecat
He did a tune called "The Joker" in the movie "Babel" that I'd like to get.

28. That could be.
I saw him live once. The show was fantastic, but the crowd was very disappointing. Everyone was into it, but people were way too trashed on all sorts of things.

9. Technically, techno falls under the electronica umbrella...
not the other way around. Just sayin'. :P

7. Depends who's spinnin'
I tend to like hard house for all my raver needs, and I like a lot of drum 'n' bass as well. Can't stand big beat or funky breaks.

10. Do you have XM?
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 01:54 PM by JackBeck
There's a great station that plays good mixes from time to time. DJ Fiddler's show Thump Funk is my favorite. Great music to work out with.

12. I don't, alas...
My new favorite workout music is actually London Calling by The Clash. I know that sounds kinda counter-intuitive, but that album at full volume on my iPod seems to have a sort of regenerative effect on me. I can do an elliptical machine forever, as long as I've got the Clash.

13. One of the few genres I can't stand.
Assuming you're talking "club" techno.

If you mean stuff like Chemical Brothers, I'm actually okay with that.

14. Shouldnt the word "music" be the one you put in quotes?
Just kidding- to each his own. I respect anyone who gets into music- even if it's not my favortie kind.

I'm not a fan, but I must admit, the new Moby LP that samples the old Gospel/Southern field recordings is pretty darn cool.

19. YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!11!
A little too much really. It has eaten up more of my budget than I'd care to admit, so lately I've been exploring the free side of techno.

I presume you're listing to the Aphex Twin Popcorn remix. It's really rather good.

20. I like what I think is techno
meaning I don't know the difference between techno and electronica and trance and yada yada and if I post the ones I like I'm liable to commit some huge gaffe and get called lame and kicked out of this thread...but anyway for my purposes here are a couple I like

Darude - Sandstorm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSYxT9GM0fQ

Spider Jerusalem turned me onto this

Atom Bomb - Fluke
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqBK5kA1b_k

I love this! :bounce:

I listen to a lot of VNV Nation, Aphex Twin, Juno Reactor, Lords of Acid. A few others. Recently got into Morcheeba.

25. Yep
When I listen to internet radio it's often ambient, techno, house, and sometimes space. I never got to hear this stuff till 2000 when I got broadband. :)

If I ever wind up in Gitmo, playing loud (or even audible) techno would make me crack like a walnut.

30. Yes! Yes!
I love it to exercise to or do housework to. They hypnotic quality of it really lifts my mood and keeps me going.

I also discovered the last couple of years that downtempo electronica is good to work at my desk to on the job. not too laid back and not too intrusive on my concentration.

So yea, count me a fan.

I really like the Blade soundtracks also.
