I'm not sure what's on the menu, but the hubby bought the tequila and margarita mix this weekend.

13. WONDERFUL!!! MMMMM
I love the basics...no sour cream or extenders...just AVOCADOES as the base!!!

If you have time, warm your tostadas in the oven and sprinkle with a bit more salt. Most of the really good restaurants here in Santa Fe serve chips and salsa for FREE with meals. Some warm chips...:9

Yummm and enjoy!!!

15. Do you know about the secret ingredient for killer guac?
And no, I don't mean cilantro. No cilantro in the guac for me and I love cilantro. Garlic powder! If no one Chez Sniffa objects, try it with a little garlic powder and no tomato sometime. It's a good way to make a greater contrast in flavor and texture if you're also serving a fresh salsa at the same meal.

BTW, some Californians make insta-guac with only mashed avocados and a small amount of jarred salsa.

Your dinner plans sound like my cup of tea!

I'm making pasta e fagioli, in the dry style that my mother made rather than a soup.

24. damn it, you're making me hungry!
I love making guac.

We made a really neat wasabi guacamole once with baked wontons for chips (although that part was a pain in the butt - regular chips or pits chips would be fine) for a party once.

26. I don't know the recipe off hand but I could find it when I get home if you want
I want to say it was similar to regular guacamole, but with wasabi and ginger (and maybe something else?) added to it, and the wonton wrappers we cut into triangles, lightly salted and baked. No sour cream although tomatoes, onions, and garlic may have been in it.

I tend to cook using prayer and Chaos as methods.

30. I ask because there was an incident a while back
in which a woman sued Kraft over their instant guacamole after she discovered it contained exactly no avocado. There was a bit of a flamewar about it here, as I recall.

Yours sounds good!
