Anyone ever tried Salvia?

I was curious. I tried it last night, and found it an amazing experience. It was like living in that stage between being awake and dreaming. I'm not positive if it was actually all the salvia (I had about a gram or two of amanita muscaria with it. . .), but I smoked about 4-5 large dried leaves. It was pretty intense though. For about 5 minutes, I forgot I had a body at all. So I'm interested, what kind of experiences have you guys had?

Spit swapping is so hot.........But seriously, I have tried it. My experience was probably the closest thing to astral projection that I have ever experienced. It was pretty cool actually.

I can see why it is legal; there isn't much chance that people will do it twice.

I found it interesting, but not fun. I took it in a very concentrated form, smoked in a pipe. It was not subtle.

That it might be unenjoyable. Or maybe some people's minds aren't suited for it.

I found it. . .intense is the best word. Not something I would want to do everyday, but I found it very enjoyable and fun when I did it.

12. hmmm, ...of course different people react differently to each drug...

but, I also think there are many different levels of potency with salvia, just from hearing various people's experiences with it.

The persons who sent me on my trip with this stuff have done every drug known to man (over and over and over, lol), and they pretty much had the same sort of experience I did. Actually, one of them had had a really bad trip on it. Definitely "intense" though, on that we agree.

I would like to do it one more time, alone, in a dark room that is familiar to me, so that whatever came from the trip would have come out of my own head, rather than me and the drug processing the space and things around me.


Since then, I've tried acid, and that... now that is fun!

14. oh, and yeah, I might have just smoked too much

I did four hits of it, some sort of ground up preparation sold at a head shop my friend works for.

Each one was a 5 minute trip of it's own, and each one seemed like several hours (reality was brought back only by realizing the same song was playing the entire time). Oddly though, other than weird time perception, the trips were all quite different. The first one was just uproarious laughing, it wasn't particularly hallucinogenic. The next few got really weird.

16. Before you make that assumption...

...you should do a search in the lounge for past threads on salvia (there have been a few). The overwhelming percentage of folks who've tried it--and I'm talking people with experience with hallucinogens--did not find it a pleasant substance at all, and one that should be used with great care.

Tried a liquid form that did nothing at all. Then I smoked some dried leaves and it was a very intense, very short little trip - probably not more than 2 minutes.

I've had something called salvia, in Mexico. But since common names change all over the place, there's no telling whether what I had and what you had are one and the same.

The salvia I had is a wild herb that grows in the deserts of Northern Mexico. It does have some strong calming effects when consumed as an infusion.
