Who here is a Nazi when it comes to promptness?
Me? I'm ALWAYS early for everything. I'd rather be three hours early than three minutes late. Just the way I am, it was passed down from my uptight father. When people are late, I wish great pain upon them. Anyone else like this?

3. I tend to be antsy if I think I'm going to be late,
and my ex used to drive me nuts because he was always late for everything. So I'd lie about when we were supposed to be somewhere and tell him it was at least a half-hour sooner than it really was. Even then he'd make us late.

And then there's my dad, the original promptness Nazi. Anytime he traveled anywhere he'd insist on being at the airport hours and hours before the scheduled departure. We'd tease him about it, he'd be sitting at the airport and we'd say, "Dad, the plane is still in Seattle. It's at the Boeing plant, being built."

5. That would be me
I usually arrive at any of my jobs a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before I have to be there.
My father and sister both have the 'late for everything syndrome'. We have learned to manipulate event times purposely so they will be punctual.

7. my sister is always late to everything and it's annoying and rude.
i asked why she always needed to make an entrance and was there no other way she could get attention? Chronic lateness shows a huge lack of courtesy.

28. I have a sister like that.
If she says she'll be here at 10:00, I plan for 11:00. But I know I can depend on it, so it isn't so bad.

Not long, but never there exactly on time. I guess it annoys some people. Yet, I have a parishioner who's never less than 20 minutes late for anything--and he's a kind of bigwig in town--but everyone just laughs about how he's never on time. I'm beginning to think I should be later than I am.

My mom used to say I was born 10 days late, and haven't been on time to anything since!

12. I always try to be early for stuff...
Work (Even though I hate it . . I know the day I try to be right on time.. I'll end up late . . so always early), Movies, Whenever I'm Meeting someone for Dinner... kind of at times makes me impatient with my right on time or a few minute late it no big deal friends. . .

I don't wish great pain on people who are late . . . but I may give them the "So, you finally decided to show up" look ;).

I was ready at 7:15pm....and he arrived just after that!

I don't like being kept waiting by those who are real late either. I make sure any appointments I schedule are the first ones of the day so as not to be kept waiting too long.

22. Me, for sure
I have friends I tell to show up 20 minutes earlier than they actually need to be there because people being late just makes me nuts. It probably bothers me a lot more than it should, but it's a pain in the ass when you're trying to make a movie show time and everyone know when it's playing and they're late anyway. Also, I'm 30 years old and I've NEVER been late for work in my life, not even by a second.

23. I am the same way. I would rather be an hour early than five minutes
late.

When I was in the Navy and stationed aboard a ship, my division stood watches in engineering around the clock. The way the schedule was set, you got relieved by the same guy every day (or night or morning.). One of the guys told me that I was the person that everyone wanted to be relieved by because I was always early or on time. Some guys were always late and you can imagine how bad that sucks at 4am!

24. Always on time for work
actually, early - by at least a half hour. Basically, I am on time when it matters. Otherwise I get there when I can.

I have spent far too much time waiting for others in the past to rush around anymore, unless I need or want to.

I no longer rush to places where I know I will get there and wait, like the dentist or the orthodontist. It doesn't make sense in some offices where I am consistently left waiting a good hour past my appointment time. I call if I'm stuck on the fwy and it's going to be a while but I don't stress over it.

My best friend and I always run late. One of us. Or both. It's understood - up to a half hour without concern. We both have kids.

Still, I'm usually the one waiting on the family and on half the personal appointments I keep.

26. Same here.
I am completely incapable of being late to an appointment or meeting. For instance, say, if you and I and some other people were to get together for, say, a meet-up of some kind, I will guarantee you I'll be the first one there. Early.

Edited on Thu Mar-22-07 07:38 AM by zanne
Who always decides he needs to use the bathroom two minutes before we're supposed to leave; then he spends ten minutes in there. I HATE being late! I'd rather start getting ready an hour early rather than run around at the last minute trying to get my sh**t together. I get knots in my stomach.

34. Jesus. I am exactly like that.
Let's say that me and my SO are going to get a plane. Or see a movie at the theater. She finds things to do until the point that, when we get in the taxi, we depend on the traffic not being bad to get there on time.

And then, when we get in 5 minutes early (whew!), she complains we are stranded there doing nothing.

Gaaaah. Married life. Can't live with it, can't live without it.
