1. Amsterdam must be one of the greatest cities in the world for pub-crawling.

2. Belgium also makes some pretty good beer:

3. It is a lot less of a hassle to get into the Netherlands than it is to get back into my own freaking country.

It was cold and rainy, but the daffodils are out:

8. It is remarkably clean, even in the central city.
The other cool thing is that a lot of people ride bicycles and the cars are small -- you just don't see big honkin' SUVs and pickup trucks.

You know, this statement is like saying that Bordeaux wine is "pretty" good. Just saying. It might offend the "beer" snobs, IMO :hi:

Nice pictures!! Hope you enjoyed your trip!!

DId you had some "Lambic beers".... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmMMMMMm!!! YUMMO!!! :9

9. Amsterdam would be a beer snob's paradise.
I was taken to a little tiny bar called Le Belgique, which is about the size of my living room, and which has all manner of interesting libations. I did like the Kwak beer.

4. What beautiful pictures! I love the skies in them. They look like they were painted by El Greco.
Good thing you took them, though, or you might not remember anything about your trip. :smoke:

Kwak beer? Is that meant to be chased back with Cold Duck?

10. It was damn cold, actually.
Next time I go, I will spend more time, forget the camera and concentrate instead on the pubs.

12. Many years ago, somebody tried to sell me hash in Dam Square.
In Amsterdam you can get anything you want. This trip, though, I stuck to beer...
