Happy Birthday to Shemp Howard!
Born March 17, 1895.

Okay he was no Curly, but he was a helluva lot funnier than Joe Besser or Joe DeRita.

4. I liked Shemp more than I did Curly.
I thought that the combination of Moe, Larry and Shemp was the funniest.

In my humble opinion.

3. Would you want to follow Curly's Act?
Shemp was a potent Stooge.
Indeed, while on hiatus from the Three Stooges he performed in other features.
He even had his own 6 pack of "Super Stooges", featured , I think, in Open Season on Saps.
They were the margarine of Stoogery though, and in the wake of Curly's stroke, he returned to the team.

5. The forgotten Stooge.
The Stooge who gets no respect. It's a shame because I too think the Moe, Larry and Shemp combination was the funniest. Curly's shtick was funny but I thought Shemp added more than Curly's man/child dopiness.

6. Shemp was part of the act before Jerome,
when they were with Ted Healy.
