Well, ya learns somethin' new every day.
Remember "Classical Gas"? http://www.classicalgas.com

It's a landmark song that came out in the sixties, and the composer, Mason Williams, was promptly forgotten by many. But did you know he was, among other things, a comedy writer?

I just discovered he was head writer for the Smothers Brothers during their entire TV run!

And he's still here, doing all kinds of cool stuff. Not bad for a one hit wonder who made his mark over forty years ago!

1. I didn't see a way to listen to it on the websites
so here is Mason Williams playing "Classical Gas" on YouTube-

That's interesting that he wrote for the Smothers Brothers.
I've always liked C.G., thanks for reminding me of it!

3. I think I remember seeing him on the Smothers Brothers.
I might have known that he wrote for them too, but I'm not certain cause my memory ain't what it used to be, many long years ago.

5. Them Poems - "Them Lunch Toters" (from memory!)
How 'bout them lunch toters, ain't they a bunch?
Goin' off to work, just a-totin' they lunch.
Totin' them vittles and a-totin' that chow.
Eatin' it later, but a-totin' it now.

Them food-frugal lunch toters, ain't they wise?
Totin' them lunches, made by they wives.
How to be a lunch toter? (If I may emote it)
Gitcher wife to pack a lunch, got to work and tote it.

Thankew, thankew.
Wanna hear about Them Beaver Cleavers?
