My quest is over...

I have tomato paste in a tube...plus a place to buy spices at fabulous prices. Good way to end the week.

5. Too tired to cook after such a long quest
But the point is, I can now add that little bit of flavour without wasting 3/4 of a can. (I always have good intentions of using it up, or freezing it, but it never happens.

I made some FABULOUS florentine meatballs last week.

6. Oh yes. Tube tomato paste is far superior.
I made florentine meatballs once before. They are tasty.

8. Lately, I've been embracing my inner Italian
So much better than embracing my inner Brit when it comes to food.

I wish I was visiting you and your warm weather. I am SO DONE with winter. We actually had snow on the first day of March. It didn't last, but still... I'm so tired of snow, and wind and RAIN. It's funny though, at the end of January, I spent the afternoon visiting my friend. We were on her deck. It got so warm, she put on her bathing suit. There have been a few bright spots anyway.

9. I can't complain about spring in Texas.
I visited my new sweetie in central WA last month (and going again next week), so I got to see some snow. Although she tells me its been warm there a few days as well. I like our winter. Two days of crap, a few days of freezing temperatures, lasts about a month.

I think most people should master Italian cooking. It's economical and tasty. Quick, too.

10. It's not all that cold here
It's just been harsh winter (for us.) You should see Stanley Park. Thousands of trees were blown down in a storm in December. Part of the seawall is still closed, and will be for months.

Sounding serious...I'm happy for you.

13. It was a strange winter for the Pacific Northwest.
Sad about the trees and the seawall. Especially the trees.

Yeah, it's pretty serious. Quite serious, in fact.

14. I agree with you about Italian cooking
If anyone wants to try cooking more Italian food, I heard Johanne Killeen talking about the restaurant and cookbooks on which she collaborates with her husband, George Germon, on "Dining Around with Gene Burns' program that KGO San Francisco radio broadcasts.
Their restaurant has been very popular in Providence, RI, since 1980, and they have written two cookbooks, "Cucina Simpatica" and "On Top of Spaghetti". I'm putting at least one of their cookbooks on my "to get" list.
