Call me naive, but I'm hoping I wouldn't marry someone whose trust I didn't value and count on more than all my stuff...

8. Same here
I have two cats. In fact, when my partner and I split up four years ago I insisted that they stay with me. They will never live with anyone else. They're my loyal companions and true friends, and no possession I have is worth as much as they are to me.

And there is no way in hell I'm only protecting one of the three. All three come with me.

9. My coin collection
Edited on Tue Mar-13-07 04:57 PM by derby378
Or, if it came right down to it, two coins - a 1943 British farthing from my father, and a 1936 Polish 2 groszy from my grandfather, which he received from his own father when he came over from Poland.

Not worth a huge amount, I know, but they have a lot of sentimental value to me.

22. Probably not worth a lot to anyone but me or someone in my family
but I have a wooden rosemaled trunk that was brought by my great-great-great-grandma from Norway when she came here in the early 19th century. It has her name and birth date and marriage date, and it's stuffed with family history...photos, postcard albums, wedding garments, farm ledgers (which are a hoot; my grandpa kept track of every penny in and out of his pocket, penciled in little black books)

It's a real nostalgia trip every time I open it up.

27. Gotta say nothing.
I just won't marry. I don't like the prenup concept, Donald Trump does, and it erodes at building a relationship. Which means I just have to be more wary of the greedy vs the genuine.

I wouldn't have gotten married. I don't believe in prenups and I never will. It's been worth the risk.
