It's almost Spring and the deer are wandering all over my yard
at night and hanging in the wood behind the house at dusk. How do I know? Because my big dog spends most of his evenings in his outdoor annex barking at the bad deer! I've only spotted the deer once or twice myself, but the big dummy is convinced that it's his job to bark at them whenever they're in the vicinity. The medium size dog alternated between going outside to assist barking at the deer and coming inside to bark at the deer while standing in fornt of the TV so we know that he's on the job!

I just hope that the noise isn't bothering the neigbors. Thank heavens we're outside the city so there is a lot of space around the house.

2. I never have a camera ready.
The dogs can always spot them. It must have something to do with how they see. Usually I can't spot them in the brush. Last week, the moon was shining on the snow making a monochromatic world and I could see the deer shapes moving in the trees. When we walk the dogs along the power line, we can see the deer up ahead but the dogs ignore them until the deer actually move.

Mu neighbors complain bitterly, but so far the only damage I've eve had is the time a deer stepped on a rose bush and broke the canes!
