Car got stolen tonight.
My daughter had everything in it - custom ice skates, all her school books, IPOD, phone, cash....we can't afford to replace the car, which she needs for work and school. Poor kid's in tears...this is such a bummer!

2. Oh, that's awful! Was it stolen from in front of your house?
Mine was stolen in 2004- three days later an orchard worker told his boss that a car had been sitting next to the orchard (only 1/4 mile from my house), and they called the sheriff who had it towed to the garage in town.

5. I had LoJac installed when I bought my car
well worth the money and it saved me some cash on the insurance. If the car is ever stolen all I have to do is call the State Police and give them the VIN and they'll locate within 30 minutes.

8. Our new car has that, but this is a 1990 with 235,000 miles.
We never thought anyone would bother to steal it!

7. The cell phone co won't "ping" the phone unless police ask...
and the cops say they'd have to get a court order! They won't bother going to court unless there's someone in physical danger, ie a kidnapping. I went round and round with the cops and the cellphone company today, even called the Mayor, to no avail! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

by now the cell battery must be dead. I'm furious. Going to suggest a new law to our legislator, but that will be too late to help here.

10. That's total BS, you know. They don't need a "court order"....
...because they have the owner's (your) permission.

They just don't want to do it, and they're shining
you on with a BS excuse.
