When does the Food Network show any new programs. I have checked all day from early morning till la...
late at night and they are all old. The Barefoot Contessa today was from 2003. The other night there two new ones in a 24 hour cycle - Ace of Cakes and another one. But all in all, it is the most re-runs that I have ever seen.

2. Unfortunately, Food Network has been getting stale recently.
I used to occassionally turn on the TV to see what they had to offer. Now I rarely bother.

9. You know what I think Alton should do?
He's got this show where they cover a single recipe, or ingredient.

And he's got this show where he goes on the road.

Why not combine the two where he goes on the road covering various food festivals? I mean like filbert festivals, and artichoke festivals. And so on.

10. "Secret Life of...." already does that
each episode is about a certain kind of food, and they cover various related food festivals in the last part of the show.

16. Food Network already did a show called All-American Festivals.
It was first hosted by Tyler Florence, then Jim O'Connor (of "The Secret Life Of...").

3. Love Ace of Cakes.
But then Charm City Cakes is in Baltimore, and I live nearby B-more, so...lol. Still, those cakes are spiffy. :)

7. There is some new stuff
you just have to hunt for it. Lots of reruns, especially during the day.

new Iron Chef is usually on Sunday evenings,
new Good Eats is Tuesday or Wednesday
new Dinner Impossible is Wednesday (I'm strangely hooked on this show)

13. Ace of cakes doesn't really show anything about
making cakes, even very much about decorating cakes. It's about the hectic process of getting the orders done in time. I haven't been impressed. The only impressive part of the show is seeing the final cake. Some of them look awesome. Oh well, I can tune in to the last 60 seconds to see that.

17. I can't stand the Ace Of Cakes guy.
I can't stand the Dinner: Impossible guy either, but I have watched a few episodes.

I'd really prefer to have cooking shows, though. I guess I'm getting old. They took most of my favorite game shows off GSN, now they're taking cooking shows off Food Network. Everybody's looking for a demographic younger than I am.
