4. I'm not totally disagreeing with the sentiment (at least I didn't the first
97 times I saw it), but that ear-scarring cackling laugh is like a battery acid enema...

(More seriously, I find pathetic attempts at sexual innuendo in main-stream advertising to be vomitorious...)

:)

6. Me too.
Television was a waste of time and bad for my blood pressure. Deciding not to replace mine when it broke was one of the best decisions I ever made.

11. How long ago?
It's been about ten years since I owned a set. The one drawback is that you tend to miss a lot of references made in casual conversation.

12. Off and on.
I didn't have one or a few years, then my mother decided that when I went on maternity leave I'd be horribly bored without one, so she gave it to me and while I tried to keep people in the house from using the danged thing (the sheer noise of it gets on my nerves, I have a hearing problem that makes it difficult to understand speech when there's background noise) I didn't manage to get rid of the thing entirely until my son tried to clean it and sprayed half a bottle of all-purpose cleaner on it. Apparently some dripped onto the circuit board inside it, and I was secretly thrilled. That was last summer. :)

7. I guess "real women" need to replace the good meat
in the bedroom with the "meat" from Quiznos.

10. Apparently. It's just an incredibly obnoxious ad in so many ways...
They bludgeon us with over-done sexual innuendo, imply that you must consume their product to be 'real,' and wrap it all up in a screechy faux-trendy package that is the definition of wretched...

13. I really think people misunderstand this ad.
Recently there have been (from Burger King, etc.) a slew of "real men eat meat" fast food ads. All about men needing "manly" meals comprised of huge amounts of meat.

I think the Quiznos ad is poking fun at that, and giving the women their turn. I also think that accounts for the stupid-on-purpose cackling. It's a send-up of all those other ads.

16. Correct....
I guess The Q wasn't making any headway against Subway so they are gong after the King...

I know one thing, when I crave Prime Rib, I think of Quiznos...

14. I hate that commercial too. Too bad it seems to run every three or four minutes.
Even when I'm not actually watching TV!
