What are your favorite video games/video game systems?
I apologize in advance if this was posted recently.

I was just sitting here thinking about the old video games and video game systems I used to play. I had so many of them since I was a kid. I had an original NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Sony Playstation, and Nintendo Gamecube.

My favorite system of all-time has to be the SNES. That system had kick-ass graphics for a 16-bit(?) system. My favorite games for the SNES were the Donkey Kong Country game series. They had awesome graphics and gameplay for that kind of technology.

I can't forget about the original NES. I too loved that machine a helluva lot. My favorite game series are tied between: Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and the Mega Mans.

What were/are you favorite games/game systems?

17. Get an Atari 800 emulator...
You can play it on your PC!

I love emulators... all the power without taking up space or electricity. :D :loveya:

3. I love my GameCube.
I bought it for one reason.

It was a cold February Saturday night last year. My partner and I were walking through the mall, and, out of curiosity, decided to stop in by an EB_Games store to see what was available. It had been about two years since I'd last played a video game. College, and then graduation and the difficulty of a job search had taken-over my mind.

Anyway, there was a demo of the GameCube available. I hadn't bought one, and I went into the store with no intention of ever buying one. But there was a game on the demo: Zelda: The Wind Waker.

I played the Dungeon demo for about five minutes. When I left, I was tingling. So wonderful. Memories of Zelda past were flooding back. Hope for a Zelda future was born within.

Less than two hours later, I had gone online and bought a GameCube AND reserved a copy of Wind Waker. It would be two long months before I'd get to play it, but it'd be a worthwhile wait. I was sure of it.

I prepared for the release week. At work, I filed for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off. When the week came, I cleaned the apartment from top to bottom. This would be my ideal gaming vacation.

The game came, and I was enthralled. Ensnared. Enveloped. It was a wonderful experience.

...

So that's my current favorite. As a Zelda fanatic, the GameCube really is a dream come true:
Ocarina of Time: Master Quest
The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, which contains the original Legend of Zelda, the Adventure of Link, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask.
And, of course, Wind Waker.

Good times, indeed!

(BTW, I bought F-Zero GX last night at Circuit City. Man, it is HARD!!!)

5. I didn't get that game because it looked "too cartoony"
It does look fun, however.

Right now, I'm tackling "Prince of Persia:Sands of Time." It's a great game, but tough to beat.

My favorite game, however, is Metroid Prime. Great game.

8. Yeah..
I had some reservations about it at first, but wow..

it looks like you're playing a Disney cartoon. That's the best comparison I can think of.

Metroid Prime is muy excellente!

15. hmm
PS2...favorites are EVERYTHING in the Resident Evil series, including the old PS1 games. I think my favorite is the remake of Resident Evil 1 for the Gamecube though...The graphics are a MASSIVE leap above any other game in existence...definately the most creepy game out there.

6. Old School
I realized long ago that if I owned a gaming system I would cease to have a life, so I've never purchased one. But I have fond memories of wasting hours in front of Fishers Big Wheel department store (now a Walmart--waaaa) feeding quarters into Space Invaders. Yes, Space Invaders. I am old. That is all.

I saw recently that you can get all those old era games in a game unit that is, ironically, the size/appearance that just the gamestick was back then. I would like to have that, but it didn't appear under my Christmas tree.

9. Original playstation. The cadillac of consoles.
It was so good they built one into the PS2 and kept the same controller. Although it had inferior graphics to the contemporary nintendo and sega systems, the game developers worked with the people at sony to deliver a really great gameplaying experience. That said I'm currently playing a lot of NES roms.

14. Mattel Intellivision
My favorite was B-17 Bomber. I'd play that sucker for hours.
My wife complained about the sounds and talking on the game
so I ran the game inputs into the VCR and the audio outputs
to my stereo receiver so I could listen to the game on
headphones.

The video game system that has the best graphics is the XBOX. And that is why I like it the best.

There's nothing like playing Rainbow Six 3 using the vocie commands :bounce: Then you can go on Xbox Live and kick sme serious sass with Prokect Gotham 2.

I
m hearing a few rumbles that Halo 2 MIGT be delayed a little more..but that's fine actually. Full Spectrum Warrior, Sudeki, Ninja Gaiden and DOA Online are headed down the pipe, and then...DOOM 3 !!!
